Crystal Palace Independent Supporters Association
The next part of our European adventure sees us take on Cypriot team AEK Larnaca.
The situation with this match may be fluid following the recent attack on an RAF base locally, however, as of now we are due to play at
AEK Arena, Larnaca on Thursday 19th March – 7.45pm KO (EET) / 5.45pm KO (GMT).
Turnstiles will open at 5:45pm local time.
Our thanks go to our friends at Aberdeen FC for sharing information and their experiences of Larnaca with us, which we have included in the information below.
Tickets
We understand that Crystal Palace have been allocated 700 Seats from AEK Larnaca, the club have again worked to maximise our allocation.
For the Aberdeen match each ticket was printed with the supporter’s name and passport number. Strict checks were implemented at the ground, checking the passport against the tickets.
We strongly recommend that when booking flights and accommodation for this trip supporters ensure that they have secured access to refunds in the event that the situation escalates and the match is moved or rearranged.
Follow @CPISAinfo on Twitter for supporter info and matchday updates.
Getting to AEK Arena
There is generally a lack of public transport and shortage of taxis locally, so you will need to consider transport arrangements in advance. Supporters making their way to AEK Arena by foot, car or taxi should head to Aigiou which is at the away end and with plenty of parking available. Aigiou - Google Maps .
Crystal Palace supporters are expected to be in the stand behind the goal
(see photo gallery below).
At the Stadium
Away supporters historically have arrived at the parking area behind the Larnaca Stand (North/Away Stand) where there is a short walk to the stadium entrance.
There have been kiosks selling food and soft drinks in the ground but no alcohol has been sold in the away end.
There is a strict policy of no pyrotechnics or throwing of any objects from the seating decks. Supporters must also ensure they do not block any passageways or stairwells.
We understand that heavy UEFA fines and/or sanctions can be issued if there is any inappropriate behaviour or failure to comply with stadium regulations. (see photo gallery below)
There are reports of AEK Larnaca fans clashing with other fans, so do consider taking sensible precautions to ensure your own your safety. Stick to the designated away friendly areas and move around the area and to and from the arena with other fans.
CPFC staff will be in Larnaca if you need assistance over there and you can contact Nikki Gibbons, CPFC’s Head of Support Services on 07345 703244.
Please feel free to share this info with other Palace fans who may need help.
